We’re in the home stretch. This will be Number 3 on my list of The Best 10 Christmas Songs that you (Probably) Don’t Know. If you’re interested, I’m sure you can find numbers 4-10 in my previous posts. I had a really difficult time ranking the final three songs on this list. Any of them could be number 1 and it was difficult to choose. Ultimately, the “Saturday Night Live Christmas Treat (A.K.A. I Wish It Was Christmas Today)” ended up at number 3. This song started as a kind of joke I guess on an episode of Saturday Night Live back in 2000. It was performed and sung by Horatio Sands and Jimmy Fallon while Chris Kattan and Tracy Morgan held a keyboard and danced respectively. They repeated the performance several more times in subsequent years around Christmas time. Then in 2009, Julian Casablancas from the Strokes took it to another level when he covered it and released it as a single. I found this version from about 4 years ago from Late Night with Jimmy Fallon that combines the best of both versions. Enjoy! vimeo/10299145
