Prairie Spirit Trail 100 & 50 Mile Ultra Races Another smashing success At our Epic Ultras Event Everyone agreed Prairie Spirit was time well spent Pre-race dinner was yummy Cooked by Warren Bushey and crew Everyone gobbled it up The love put in it shining through Speaker David Horton entertained A packed house with his tales With humor and experience And steps on how not to fail He was so full of inspiration Everyone listening close For he was an expert in a room full Of newbies and pros Race morning started early As it always does All the runners excited With a crazy energetic buzz It was obvious that the prayers Meditation and voodoo Paid off with Mother Nature As the sky was solid blue 98 runners set out To tackle 100 long miles 69 earning their buckle Crossing the line full of smiles John Cash pulled off the win In a course record of 15:10 And first female to cross Tralaine Benefiel for her win The fifty miler was a blast As 77 went on their way The Second Annual Prairie Spirit Oh, what a beautiful day Co-creating an Epic Experience Of a lifetime no doubt Runners, the center of attention As they traveled the route The fifty miler winners Ben Bartley and Kristen Weigand Flying through the course Throughout this remote land Each finisher a winner For making it to that line After 50 or 100 miles In the heat and sunshine A HUGE thank you to all Participants and crew For Epic Ultra Events Would be nothing without you The Brigade pulled off another Amazing Epic Ultras Event Flashing laser lights at the finish Prairie Spirit spared no expense All of the feedback Has certainly been surreal Tons of kudos and praise For the Epic Ultras Brigade and Eric Steele It’s why we dedicate our lives To co-creating ultrarunners dreams These experiences of a lifetime Are certainly our “theme” ~EUP
