What Buhari NEVER said ...that he will make Nigeria ungovernable......... Fact: The statement was actually made by Lawal Kaita, currently a PDP member from the North who said if a Notherner doesnt win the 2011 election, they will make Nigeria ungovernable. Guardian Newspaper published an article written by Reuben Abati, claiming that Buhari made that statement. Buhari sued both Guardian and Abati. The presidency begged Buhari to settle out of court, which he did. An apology was printed in the same Guardian retracting the false claims .....that Muslims should only vote for Muslims.......... Fact Buhari never said that. He gave a speech in Sokoto in 2001, at a launching in Hausa language. what he said was people in Sokoto knows themselves, so when the ban on politics is lifted, they should choose responsible leaders to represent them. The reporter that wrote the story is Hammed Oyerinde, a Yoruba man who was not at the event, and did not understand nor speak Hausa, yet produced the story. Few days after, Bishop Matthew Kukah, visited Buhari, challenging him on the alleged statement. Buhari told Father Kukah that his speech at the event was tapped and he should listen to the tape. Many people had listened to the tape, and found out what Buhari truly said. Hammed Oyerinde later confessed that he wasnt at the event and that he doesnt understand Hausa...... the big question was, so why did Oyerinde cook up the story? Hammed Oyerindes antecedents dates back to when he was accused of taking bribes and fabricating stories. He was disciplined by the Nigerian Press watchdog.... ..................spill the blood of dogs and baboons....... Fact: Buhari quoted a popular Hausa proverb - Kare jinni birin jinni direct translation - If a dog bites a monkey, both will end up bloody, contextual meaning - this competition will be fierce. Buhari never spoke in English, and this is even a popular proverb used freely in the north. For example if Kano Pillars are scheduled to have a soccer league game with Gombe united, fans from both side use the proverb to predict the outcome of the anticipated match. How the media interpreted it to mean blood of dogs and baboon is unfortunate ........total implementation of Sharia in all Nigerian States......... Fact: Buhari had clarified this and wondered why he will make such a statement, especially in a cosmopolitan Nigeria ......PDPs allegation that Buhari made Nigeria join OIC....... Fact: Buhari refused to sign Nigeria up to OIC. It was IBB (Babangida) that signed Nigeria up to OIC. Funnily enough in 2013 GEJ led the Nigerian delegates to OIC.
