What Causes People To Give Up? I just began to think this morning about how many people give up on what God has spoken over their life. People give up either because the vision didnt come to pass when they wanted it to or its taking too long. Some people give up because they dont have the finance or resources they need or because people talk them out of their promise. Didnt God say: I will supply all your needs according to my riches and glory, so why are you giving up! I have seen pain and disappointment, illness and death . . . the circumstances of this world often cause people to question Gods existence. He is still God and He is still on the throne. People give up because of being wounded and hurt, disappointed by someones unfaithfulness or dishonesty, having been in churches where you were condemned for your weakness, shunned for making poor choices. We only need to turn to Him, confess our sin before Him, and ask Him to come into our lives (1 John 1:9, Ephesians 2:8-9). There is a reason why some of you even as Christians are you’re going through what you’re going through. You may not even realize it, but God is allowing you to go through this thing for a strengthening season. Keep your hope in God. Have the faith to believe He will make a way out of no way. Faith is the substance of things hoped for (Hebrews 11:1). You dont have to be ashamed of your past, or what happened in your life before. You only need to trust God moving forward. Expect a miracle and expect change in your life for the better through Christ Jesus. The Apostle Paul talked about that kind of supernatural expectancy in Philippians 1:19-20 where he says, I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed....When Jesus came into your life you were made free. Satan wants us as believers to be overwhelmed in the process of salvation. Saints have been given false hope through such beliefs as name it and claim it.“prosperity gospel” is not biblical and is in many ways antithetical to the true gospel message and the clear teaching of Scripture. Satan makes clear misrepresentations and misunderstandings to confuse the people of God. Listen, if you are a saint you will go through something. But because you have Jesus you will make it through something! So dont allow anything to separate you from the love of Christ. I know somethings have been and are painful You will survive. You are a survivor and you will be OK! Separating from Christ is what will be the worse things ever for your life. Hang in there, dont throw in the towel and find a good church home and leader to have motivate and push you through the many processes you shall go through. Most of all dont abort the vision God gave you because of a bump in the road. Get over the bump and keep on trekking! God Bless, Bishop Darrell Hines
