What I always experience with techies and nerds at customer meetings is the fact that especially the techies and the nerds are those guys, who are building the highest walls concerning new ideas and introducing a new high-level skilled software. Sadly, of course those guys are always up to the frontline shouting what a crap Windows OS is and why Linux has the better approach. They glorify themselves in being progressive, modern, forward-thinking and open-minded. But when you confront them with their own inefficient workflow with tons of selfmade (script) tools keeping them busy up to the upper lip and when you present a new mindset and workflow making life for them easier, they instantly want the Berlin wall back, with all negative consequences like barbed wire and self-shooting automats. It took me quite a long time to realize when I need to make a cut. And I couldnt understand, why they didnt want to be helped. The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it. There is a point where you need to let the dinosaurs die again...
