What I dont get: Why is it that busy people have more time for phone calls than for email? Phone calls tend to take at least twice as long to complete the same amount of business as an email does. If I call you and ask for so-and-sos contact info, for example, were going to have to go through the usual, Hi, its me, how are you ritual, and then I explain what Im looking for and why I want it. Assuming neither of us is interrupted by a doorbell or the dog barking or something, you will undoubtedly say, Hold on, Ill look for it. This wastes my time and yours. When you finally locate the contact info, youll relay it to me slowly while I write it down, and then Ill repeat it back to you. Well then go through our thank-you and goodbye formalities. Email is so much quicker and simpler. I write, I was at the [blah blah blah] and talked to the guy who does [blah blah blah], but didnt get his contact info. Do you have it? You can then look up the info at leisure and simply copy and paste into a reply. How is this not faster than a phone call? I dont get it. Why do busy people prefer you call them than email, when phone calls just keep them so frantically busy?
