But there is also a shortage of true spiritual sons Many want to be entertained: they want to hear what pleases them and not what will help them; they want the pastor to do everything for them instead of learning how to exercise their own faith; they want a social club where they can elect what they want instead of being a disciple of Christ; they want the prophet to serve as their personal fortune teller instead of bringing them a word to build them and to propel them to a new level; they want comfort rather than to deny themselves, take up their cross and follow Jesus. The sad truth is that most who say they are Christians don’t really serve Christ but only themselves, and act like God is supposed to be their Santa Claus who exists only to make them happy and to fulfill all their desires. Never-the-less, I am confident that there is a remnant who still desire to be trained and equipped to reach their potential in Christ; who are willing to exercise their faith despite the opposition; who have the commitment to be true disciples; who are willing to hear the truth in love even though it hurts their flesh; who love God enough to deny themselves and to be doers of the Word of God. These do not live unto themselves but unto Christ, and are passionate about establishing the Kingdom of God on the earth. …it is to these I dedicate my life – because it is the generation who will restore all tings and prepare the way for the Coming of the Lord.
