What I read today was great. It was about Lifting Human Spirit. It went as following: “Love of the Poor- Lifting human Spirit One of the greatest examples after the Lord of love for the poor was Robert Bellarmine. He lived in the 16th century in Italy. After been made a Bishop, he gave his ring to a pawn shop to be sold and the proceeds given to the poor. He gave away the costly drapes of his apartment to clothe the poor. He once remarked that “walls cannot catch cold. “When we think of poverty, we dont just think of material poverty. Poverty of spirit is also a fact of our time. Let us pray that we may lift the spirits of those we meet each day both in and out of our lives. The stresses of modern life can dampen human spirit. Low spirit is communicated non-verbally. Lifting spirits with a smile each day can mean so much”. Even though I don’t always believe I got good reason to smile, I do, because it just might lift a spirt and brighten someone else day…Have a great week “O God Help us all to be bearers of light. . . Help us to remember that it is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.” Thank you so much CH Frank O’Grady for these words of wisdom.
