What Ive been learning... God plants seeds in our life, but its our job to protect and maintain that seed. I feel like a lot of times we dont see the seed sprout quick enough, get impatient, and dig up the seed to examine it and see if everythings okay and then replant it hoping for faster results. And some people will continue to dig up the same seed day after day, not trusting the process, thatll theyll completely kill it and any of the future fruit it could have produced. Seeds dont sprout over night. They take time. Work. They need water, sun, good soil. They need the right care. And its after the right care is given, that they sprout. Their roots take hold of the solid foundation and dig deep in the soil and the plant starts to grow toward the light. God is our solid foundation, Jesus is our light, and the seed is watered through right relationship with the Holy Spirit. But none of this can happen if we dont take care of that seed . Growth happens when we allow it to. Growth happens through persistence and patience. Its not an overnight transformation. It can be a long process. An apple tree doesnt produce good fruit after a few days, weeks, or months. It takes time. It takes years. And every year the tree grows stronger and sturdier in every way as long as it continues to stay planted in its good soil, gets light, and receives nourishment. And through our hard work comes fruit. Fruit that feeds the hungry and comforts the weary. Its a beautiful process really. What was once a seed is now the source to nourishment. You can count the number of seeds in an apple but only God can count the number of apples in a seed.
