What KitKat Will Bring To Your Android Device??? We have been hearing about Google’s Android 4.4 KitKat but still wondering what it will bring to your dear Android device? For starters, KitKat has been launched with the Nexus 5 smartphones and is in the process of reaching out to older Nexus devices such as Nexus 7, Nexus 10 and Nexus 4. For the uninitiated, Nexus devices come with plain Android, the stock Android OS that Google has built. However, when it comes to other manufacturers, they are free to tweak it as per their demands. This change could include different interfaces, aka skins or overlays. The biggest examples for this are Samsungs TouchWiz and HTCs Sense. This is the reason that the roll out to other devices takes more time. Another reason to rejoice with KitKat is that it has been developed to run smoothly on any device, even those that have as little as 512MB space. So manufacturers have no excuse to exclude any device from the list. While the Jelly Bean 4.3 update was a minor one, KitKat is a much bigger upgrade. Here are some things that a manufacturer will bring to your device with KitKat. In terms of visual interface enhancements, Android looks cleaner with transparent status and buttons bars, which means the wallpaper covers the whole screen. Even the background to the app menu is semi-transparent instead of being solid black. When you are listening to music, the lockscreen shows full- screen album artwork, which looks impressive too. Also, you can launch Google Now with a simple swipe from the main homescreen, making it easier for you to fetch information. Another new feature is the Immersive Mode which spread the apps all over the screen. According to TechAdvisor, this has been a bit of an issue since Android started using on-screen buttons (although not all handset use this approach). Now, content like books and films can use the all youre devices real estate. The status bar and navigation button clear off the screen and can be brought back in with a swipe. Given above are the main updates, but there are some smaller ones that may be of interest to you. By saying ‘Ok Google’ you can activate voice search, the phone app displays your most used contacts on top and also shows the company you are calling if the contact is not there in your contacts list. Moreover, KitKat’s default messaging app is Hangouts and wireless printing is now in your OS.
