What Nostradamus Said About Adolf Hister... thats right, Hister There is a world of difference between Bible prophecy and the inspired prophets who made them and psychics such as Nostradamus and their works. The prophets of the Bible were inspired by God. The Scriptures point this out many times. For example, we read, But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of ones own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God. (2 Peter 1:20,21). Bible prophecy is completely accurate. None of the predictive prophecies of Jesus nor anyone else can be successfully attacked and dismissed. Attacks have been made, but fail because the attacker must wrestle a prophecy from its Biblical context to make any kind of negative case at all. For example, some will say Jesus promise to establish His kingdom in the first century fail, but that is because they fail to see that Jesus plainly said that His kingdom was not of this world. His rule was established, and He is king, and He reigns from His throne at Gods right hand in the hearts of His disciples. But there have been other prophets than those who predicted amazing things. For example, Nostradamus predicted the rise of Adolph Hitler. The point is that the Bible is not so special if we can find similar predictive feats elsewhere. But we cant, and that includes the esteemed Nostradamus. But what about the Hitler prophecy? Simply put, it is vague, and when read we find it does not refer to Hitler at all. Nostradamus talks about conflict, division, strife and war. He also specifically mentions the area in and around Germany. But of course this has been the site of countless battles and conflicts throughout history. Nostradamus said, Most of the army will be against the lower Danube [Hister sera]. The great one shall be dragged in an iron cage when the child brother [de Germain] will observe nothing. This is where Hitler is supposed to have been named by name. But it says Hister sera and not Hitler. Besides that, Hister sera does not refer to a person at all, but to a place. It is amazing that people get all worked up over things like this, and never check them out to see if there is really any validity to them. On the other hand, the Bibles predictions have been abundantly investigated. Isaiah, for example, really did what Nostradamus is thought to have done. Isaiah named by name a future world leader before he was born, and told what he would do, very precisely. He called Cyrus by name, and told of Cyrus edict to have Jerusalem rebuilt (Isaiah 44:28). It is all very precise. There simply is no comparison between modern day psychics and genuine Biblical prophets. By all means, investigate Nostradamus and the others if you must, but also investigate the Bible and see the difference! By Jon W. Quinn The Final Page From Expository Files 8.9; September 2001
