What Sends a Person to Hell? SINS AND UNBELIEF God has never sent anyone to hell. God will never send anyone to hell. Actually, people do this themselves by their unbelief. God never sends anyone to hell just as He never forces anyone into heaven, but the good news is that God desires that no one perish and suffer eternal torment (II Peter 3:9) and He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked (Ezek. 18:32). People send their own selves to hell by choosing not to believe in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Jesus can save you today (John 3:16). You simply have to believe in Him and place your trust in Him (Rom 10:9-13). There is no other way on earth to escape hell except through faith in Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). It may well be that you are reading this for a reason. That reason could be that this very day is your day of salvation (II Cor 6:2). That is my hope and prayer for anyone that reads this. Just believe in Him and you will be saved (Act 16:31). Escaping Hells Torment There is a Heaven to gain and a hell to shun. You may not be aware of hell today, but when you die, you will spend eternity in either Heaven or hell. If you dont know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, you will go to hell and spend eternity in that place of torment and punishment. But God doesnt want anyone to spend eternity in hell. Thats why He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world. Jesus died on the Cross to redeem us, and God raised Him from the dead. Jesus paid for our sins with His own blood so that we could be reconciled to God. Its Gods will that every man, woman, boy, and girl accept Jesus Christ as Savior and be saved (1 Tim. 2:4). Rom 3:23 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, NIV Rom 6:23 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. NIV John 3:16-17 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. NIV The Greatest Miracle The greatest miracle is not the opening of blind eyes or deaf ears or the straightening of crippled limbs. The greatest miracle is the healing of the sin-sick soul. If you have never experienced the greatest miracle — forgiveness of sin — you can do so, right now! Here are three steps that will enable you to receive the greatest miracle: 1. ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR SINS BEFORE GOD: Because of the sin of the first man and woman, sin passed onto all mankind (Genesis 3). That means everyone born inherits a basic nature to sin: “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” (Romans 5:12) Just as physical traits are inherited, the spiritual trait of a basic sin nature is inherited. In addition, each person sins individually when they are drawn by their sinful nature to rebel against God: “But every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” (James 1:14-15) All have sinned, but God has provided a way to escape the penalties of sin. Through repentance from sin and accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, you can be saved from sin’s penalities: “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23) The wages of sin is death — that is why you need the greatest miracle to be manifested in your life. Right now, before God, acknowledge that you are a sinner. 2. CONFESS YOUR SINS TO GOD, REPENT, AND ASK HIM TO FORGIVE YOU: The basic meaning of the word “repentance” is “a change in mind which results in a change in outward actions.” Some people associate repentance with emotions such as shedding tears and feeling sorry for wrong actions and thoughts. Repentance is not an emotion. Repentance is a decision. Emotion sometimes accompanies true repentance, but it is possible for a person to feel great emotion and shed many tears yet never truly repent. Other people associate repentance with fulfilling special religious requirements. This is sometimes called, “doing penance.” It is possible to meet many such religious requirements yet never repent, in the true Biblical sense. True repentance is a change of mind that results in a change in outward actions. The necessary outward change is the act of turning away from sin and turning towards God and His righteousness. This outward, “turning away,” confirms the inward change of mind which has occurred. The Bible declares: “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:8-9) Right now, confess your sins to God; repent and ask Him to forgive you. 3. CONFESS FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST AS YOUR SAVIOR: Jesus died on the cross of Calvary for your sins: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” (John 3:16-17) You must believe that Jesus died for you and you must confess your faith in Him: “But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:8-10) Right now, confess Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. Giving your life to Jesus is an act of faith that you can express through prayer. Praying is simply talking to God. He knows you. What matters is the attitude of your heart, your honesty. You can escape hells eternal torment by praying this prayer from your heart. We suggest you pray the following prayer: Lord Jesus Christ I am sorry for the things I have done wrong in my life. I ask your forgiveness and now turn from everything which I know is wrong. Thank you for dying on the cross for me to set me free from my sins I pray and ask Jesus to be Lord over my life. I believe it in my heart, so I say it with my mouth: “Jesus has been raised from the dead.” This moment, I make Him the Lord over my life. Jesus, come into my heart. I believe this moment that I am saved, I say it now: “I am reborn. I am a child of Almighty God.” . Please come into my life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and be with me forever Thank you Lord Jesus, Amen. CONGRATULATIONS CONGRATULATIONS! If you took these three simple steps, you have just experienced the greatest miracle. To maintain your new spiritual health, follow these four important principles: 1. Start each day with prayer. 2. Praise and worship God every day. 3. Ask God and let the Holy Spirit lead you to the Pastor whom God assigned for your spiritual growth.
