What Time is It? Its been many years since I read “The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy” As I recall, Douglas Adams told of a way to tell how intelligent the creatures in the galaxy you meet are by asking them what time it is. I always figured that was a pretty good idea :) Here is my version of how to tell how intelligent the life you meet is-------- What Time Is It? Theres a zillion kinds of creatures in this old universe but only four grades of intelligence to be found. You can always tell how many smarts who youre talking to has by asking them what time it is and paying close attention to what he has to say. The lowest grade of smarts will always tell you “Thats a really dumb question and I dont like your looks You know, I really think its time to feud and fight now where on earth did I put my rocket launcher?” The next grade up is a bit smarter and his answer is a little wiser, you see Hell always tell you, “Well, its obvious that its time to compete. Hand me please, my green helmet and basketball Theres a nice playing field just down the street. Are you any good at this game?” The next level up is even wiser and he can always be trusted to kindly say “Its obvious that its time to study and learn put down that ball and come with me I know where a really good school is, and a pretty nice library.” The highest level of intelligence is very wise and can always be trusted to happily say, “Hey! Are you hungry? Lets chat over a bite or two Do you want some fresh fruit, coffee or tea? Or maybe some fried rice would be good.” Dewey Dirks
