What a beautiful day it was in Chicago yesterday and one we really deserved after the kind of winter we have just come through. Not that its all finished with us yet! There were plenty of indoor tasks to do yesterday...taxes, show prep and house cleaning but the weather decreed a one day moratorium on such things. Just to be outside, in the yard and on the deck with the sun shining down, in shirt sleeves....what a blessing! Those privileged folk who have others do their yard work really miss out and Im not fanatical about it but just to get out and clean up on such a nice day, nothing better. I opened the door to the deck, loaded up the CD changer and let it track...Deep Purples Fireball, Bostons latest, Pat Methenys most recent and Johnny Cashs newly released lost album plus a couple more I cant recall. I took my bike out to the deck and installed a new, more comfortable seat....ready to ride once more! Brought the recliner outdoors and the garden hoses too. The temperatures are still mild at this hour and it was a pleasure to park it and walk over to the Hancock Building where the Drive studios are located earlier tonight. Cant wait for Opening Day later on today after a couple of hours of sleep if Im lucky and then down to the Cell to see the Sox open against the Twins. Biggest decision...which jersey to wear, probably Paulies! Spring is finally here and well enjoy this little two day vacation here in Chi Town.
