What a compassionate group of people at this restaurant. It had me in tears. I dont believe this is the norm though. I think these people are the exception to what typically happens, at least in my experience. For the second week in a row James and I had to leave storytime early. He gets overwhelmed and has mini-meltdowns that involve kicking and hitting (me). I want to keep giving him opportunities to be involved in activities like this. Some weeks he does great the whole time, and he loves looking at all the books. But on days like today, the looks I get from other parents are enough to make me never want to leave the house. Just a little compassion would make all the difference in the world.
