What... a... day. Immediately after eating and taking my final exam, I expected to return home but I decided to take part in the rally at Underground. A bunch of people spoke and showed up. It really hadnt hit me whats really been going on until tonight; how this could affect anybody especially young Black men. It was very emotional. After the rally was the march. I marched through Downtown Atlanta with thousands of protesters shouting Hands up, dont shoot! and No justice, No peace. Then it started getting REAL. At first there peaceful protests throughout the city, then the chaos had begun. People were shattering windows, car windows, vandalizing city property, saying Eff 12, taking the streets away from drivers until the point where police came deep with riot gear and put the marching to a halt and arrested people for not dispersing. My day made a full 180. I never thought I would live to experience something like this and I certainly didnt think it would come to this point. After tonight I realize that we cant just stand by and wait for things to change because that means there will be another victim for the same cause. Now its our turn! This is the society we live in.
