What a day! Was searching for a puppy today. LOL. After going to the vets this morning, I drove an hour to where the puppy has been spotted at a dump site near the reserve. I contacted the dump and they gave me the name and number for their supervisor because due to liability no one can actually walk around the dump. Understandable but the hard part is, this puppy is on the INSIDE of the fence. I spent about 2.5 hours driving around the dump. I saw a large black and brown dog but it wasnt until just before I had to leave to get home for the kids that I saw the puppy. This sweet little puppy, probably around 3 months old. But wild as can be. Chances are the puppy was born there or possibly travelled from the reserve. The workers at the dump said they see dogs on a regular basis and in fact rescued a puppy just like this one a couple years ago from the dump. The pup is scared and as soon as my van slowed down, it took off. Best option right now is getting a live trap IF the SPCA doesnt get the puppy first. I have heard some real horror stories about the SPCA and IMO this pup has a death sentence if they get a hold of him. Is it mean of me to say that I hope they dont catch him? If my wonderful husband is okay with it, I will be heading back out tomorrow afternoon to set up a live trap outside of the dump where I saw the pup. PRAYING for a miracle.
