What a day this has been. We continue to unpack, but found time for excellent brunch at a nice storefront Tacqueria (albeit fairly expensive by Spring Branch standards). This was followed by a visit to a wonderful Salvadorean grocery which obviously has a great produce manager. Marvelous limes and peaches, plus good red jalapenos which make me happy. A pretty wild butcher with 5 kinds of chicharonnes and many types of pork skin goodies. Conroe does fairly well for the Hispanic market between this and an actual thriving Fiesta market. We finished off with lovely pina colada and coconut ice pops. Then a stop at the classic Specs on 336 and I-45, and then home to BBQ steak and pork by the pool on this beautiful, long June afternoon shifting to evening with amazing colors in the sky and the pool.
