What a day today was. Glad thats over. The trip up to pick up my horse turned into a saga! Left house at 6:45 this morning and rolled back into my driveway 15.5 hours later. Some highlights along the way included the gracious truck driver who helped me change the blown tire on the horse trailer. Chivalry does apparently still exist. And big props to the store manager of the purcell tire store in Mt Vernon, IL, who gave me a good deal on replacing all the trailer tires (hey,...this girl wasnt going to take the chance on blowing another dry tire and not having a spare....so new rubber all the way around was in order). Now for the low lights of the day.....St Louis drivers......shame on you people. Not so classy to pretend to be blind to my blinker. As if its not stressful enough to have to navigate a truck and trailer from a interchange on the left side of one interstate, onto the far right lane of another, which forces me to navigate across 4 lanes of traffic to make my exit, but then you pretend you dont see me coming over.....thanks. I grew up driving in California though, so I know how to make my own hole...I will just come over on you. And to the SUV who cut me off on the on-ramp when I was leaving, only to cut over sharply in front of me....gee buddy, I sure hope you got to where you were going quicker. But that trip is over now....Im home...the horse is glad to be home...... All is well now.
