What a deal! You don’t have to go to New York City, or Los Angeles... you don’t have to spend all kinds of money on hotels/motels. You don’t even have to stay in a tent. But you can go to the Texas Baptist Convention, on July 14; right here is San Antonio. Our state convention (now called Texas Baptists, instead of Baptist General Convention) will be here, with good preaching; reports of how and where we spent our monies, good music, good testimony from men and women about ministries, fine fellowship opportunites; and with all the convention booths for colleges, ministires, bookstores, curriculums, and stuff you don’t normally see, and stuff you wondered about. Now, you can see and experience it, at the Civic Center, and other venues. We need to elect messengers (Tami and I will be two, and we get to have four; or we can elect whoever the church wants.) We are going on Monday, even though the Convention registration will open Sunday night. You don’t have to be a messenger to attend. You do have to be an elected messenger to vote, or speak at the Convention. Let me encourage you to attend if you can. See what the Lord is doing. Catch a vision. Get an idea.
