What a great race at Newcastle Raceway park yesterday! Every race. Jacob had been improving his driving skills and this race showed it! Jacob started in the 7th spot. There was 9 karts racing total. On the first lap Jacob moved up to 5th quickly. There was some great competition following him the first half, but Jacob made an error in a turn went off the track and everyone passed him! At this point I was prepared for a last place finish. But, Jacob worked his way back to the middle of the pack! On the last lap he was ready to pass 4th place kart but In the turn Jacob hit his brake thinking the other kart was braking (he wasnt just his kart was a little slower) so. Jacob braked and the other kart kept going, and the kart behind Jacob passed him for 5th place. All in all a great race. We will just have to work on passing now, and look forward to the next race! I will post a pic soon of his crew chief giving him instruction before the race!
