What a great start to the New Year! Thank you for attending the training last Saturday, and for committing yourselves to our Deacon family yesterday at Ordination. I cannot wait to see what happens this year and what a difference we will make together at our church. New Deacons may now make calls to their Homebounds and begin caring for them and seeing them. Please let us know how these visits go and if you have anything that you may share including pictures with their approval. Did you know that right after the 11 oclock service that committee members from the Compassionate Care group joined together in the kitchen to make soups for everyone to share with Homebounds or those who are sick.. and to build up our freezer for the upcoming Day of Hugs! One would think that would be it and they would go home, but many of them stayed and made dinner for the youth group and the bell choir. It goes to show that you cannot out-give a giver! Thank you!! Remember that there is no Deacon Meeting tonight as the online calendar reports. Our next meeting is February 9th at 6PM! AND it will be held in the LIBRARY!!! Note the meeting location change!!! However, before then we are gearing up for the Blood Drive, next Sunday, January 25th... be sure to get the word out! Bring a friend and save 3 lives for every person that donates. Look for phone calls from Blood Drive committee members! They do an outstanding job pulling this together. Upcoming Birthdays: Ann Porterfield -1/17 Jim Sabin - 1/19 Karen Mason Woods - 1/25 Sally Brown - 2/2 Pam Hickson - 2/5 Allie Pocock - 2/15 Have a great month! Let me know how I may support you as you make a difference to others!
