What a great story. Hat tip Kristen Howerton and Liz Gumbinner. When the author talks about women of color getting treated differently, I can tell you that I truly believe that women of color and women in poverty (whether of color or not) get treated differently when it comes to postpartum depression and postpartum OCD. I think they have a much higher likelihood of getting their children placed in child protective services, and that pisses me off to no end. Women with perinatal mood or anxiety disorders who have an illness that does NOT indicate that their children are in any danger should not have their kids taken away. The trauma of what they must go through breaks my heart .. that could have been ME.
