What a hard day. Although I am all too aware that I will outlive many of my pets, the heartache that comes when I must part with one always reminds me of a passage from one of my favorite stories: so the little prince tamed the fox. And when the hour of his departure drew near- ah said the fox, I shall cry its your fault said the little prince I never wished you any sort of harm: but you wanted me to tame you..... Yes that is so said the fox. But now you are going to cry said the little prince. Yes that is so said the fox. You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed....... Im not sure if I tamed Lilly or if she tamed me, but I know that we were responsible for each other, and I will never forget her.
