What a hero! According to Sunday KJCT News 8, a family is hailing their dog a hero after she found help following a terrible car accident in Grand Junction, Colo. Earlier this month, after Frankie Hejnys Jeep Cherokee rolled multiple times over the side of a cliff, the family dog Nikita, ran to find help. Hejny said that even though her vehicle was not visible from the road, police were able to find them thanks to Nikita, who ran for help and brought rescuers back with her. The devoted dogs actions helped save Hejny, and her 19-month-old baby - amazingly they only suffered minor injuries in the dramatic tumble over the steep cliff. Nikita was injured in the accident, but she is expected to be okay; the Black Canyon Animal Sanctuary heard about the dogs heroic actions and generously covered all of her veterinary expenses.
