What a semester! I am blessed to attend Oklahoma Christian. If someone had told me last semester everything I was going to be doing this semester, I would have said impossible. I am a Resident Assistant, a receptionist, and occasionally a tour guide for Honors House. During the week, I normally got in bed around 1:30 and woke around 7 (more like 7:30 after hitting snooze several times). On Saturday mornings, I volunteered at a free medical clinic in Oklahoma City. I started at the clinic triaging patients, but I have been working in the lab drawing blood for the last two months. I have made so many friends this semester. I am thankful for my RA position because without it I may have not made most of the friendships that I have. It has pushed me out of my comfort zone in some aspects; yet, I have enjoyed every second of it. I feel like I have learned much this semester. I have learned every enzyme required to convert a molecule of glucose into pyruvate (resulting in only 2 net ATP), which vial to use to check a patients hemoglobin A1C, and the exact price of a mocha at Starbucks. Reflecting on this semester, I realize I could not have done this without the support of my friends and my family and, most importantly, my God. Thank you all for the prayers and support you have given me throughout the semester! I can only hope that next semester will be as great.
