What a shocker!!! Today, the As didnt extend qualifying offers to integral players to last seasons success, Bartolo Colon (best SP last season) and Grant Balfour (the closer). Both are free to sign with any team they like now, and the As will not be compensated with draft picks when that happens. For my As fans friends, I am sorry to say it, but for sports dialog sake and self aggrandizing purposes, I told you so. THEY WILL NOT KEEP THIS GROUP TOGETHER (OR ANY GROUP FOR THAT MATTER, until they have new ownership and a new stadium). Expect one or two of their big young arms to get traded in the next year or so as well. Bet on it. Seriously. Place a prop bet. ** Might be smart to let the older arms go anyways. *** Expect the Angels and Rangers to make whatever moves they need to to get better, instead of worse.
