What a strange day of mixed feelings. To see the final results was - TopicsExpress

What a strange day of mixed feelings. To see the final results was a real disappointment - as the counts came in, one after the other, I wanted us to win. The cheers of the No camp stung, and I grew more despondent as I watched the growing divide. But that disappointment has now gone, leaving in its place a new found feeling of immense pride. For enough of us stood together to make a difference - and thats all we needed. Imagine, if we had won by a margin, we would have taken almost half of our country into the unknown. Yes I sincerely believe it would have worked out well, but such significant change with a marginal win would not be easy - for such a significant change we need everyone together - working together to build a better country, a better society. Does that mean I voted wrong? Not at all. I would, and will vote Yes again. Because Yes stands for much more than just independence - its a statement against greed, corruption and inequality among others. And I think they got the message. I will continue to wear my Yes with pride, not to be seen as an objection to the union, but to represent all these things in which we believe. We now have this opportunity to explore the middle ground. A possible change for the better, we wait and see, but change that was only made possible by those who believed it possible. A change that might not only benefit ourselves, Yes and No alike, but also our closest neighbours in England, Wales and NI. In the face of all adversities we stood shoulder to shoulder and made our votes count. 45/55 was the PERFECT result. We did win. We all did. This was a remarkable moment in our history and we can all feel proud to be Scottish.
