What a summer - our children kidnapped off the streets, brutally murdered; our people terrorized from above and below, millions living with the fear of uncertainty everyday; attacks against us in world bodies, in print and all over the web; complete disregard for our humanity, history, and being; and now the beheading of another of our people. Additionally, the world descends deeper and deeper into confusion and conflict. How do we process this? What should we do? 1st things 1st - we need to recognize evil. Theres no rationalizing terrorism. Theres no cause that justifies these actions. Secondly, we need to understand that we need to live for what they are trying to take from us. In this case, its our identity. Being Jewish is a great privilege, we all need to do it as best as we can. Thirdly, Lets stand proud against terror, anti-semitism, the delegitimization of our history and being, and work towards clarity so we understand our unique role. Am Yisroel Chai!
