What a week over at Kaniva! Junior colts had a great win; goals were kicked by Dan Fraser with 4 big ones, Jake Stringer with 2, and Nathan McCarthy and Tobin Cox with a goal each. Bests were Tobin Cox, Dan Fraser, Tyson Obrien, Nathan McCarthy and Jake Stringer. Good efforts from all the Junior Colts! Senior colts unfortunately didn’t get the 4 points, but still got a few goals in, kicked by Willo Brown and Tobin Cox! Bests were Adam Ford, Andy Stevens, Craig McCarthy, Ethan Zilm, Tobin Cox and Bradie Marschall. Well done boys, keep at it! Reserves had a cracker of a game, final scores being 6-11-47 to 18-9-117. Smithdog kicked a bag of 6 goals, followed by Matt Gibbs with 3, Cameron Williams and Paul Goodridge with 2 and Stephen Zilm, Alex Gray, Johnny Orton, Mitchell Gibbs and Pete Mehlelopt with a goal each. From what I hear along the grapevine there was rum on who kicked the first goal between Rooey and Kiwi Pete, so congrats to Pete, I bet that rum went down very smoothly! Bests were Alex Gray, Smithy, Nathan Lang, Brendon Emms, Sammy Edwards and Paul Shultz. Good stuff boys! The A grade boys also had a good win, with the final scores being 16-9-105 to 23-9-147! Big hi fives to Pete Lindsay and Benny Gunning who kicked 6 goals each! Closely followed by Tommy Mac and Hoff with 3, Wol Elsden with 2 and Matty Roscow, Tom Edwards and Sebby Townsend with a goal each. Bests were Tom Edwards, Pete Lindsay, Michael Hoffman, Will Verco, Henry Treloar and Matt Roscow! Great stuff boys! Netballers also had 5 out of 7 wins and all were hard fought and closely contested games so last week was definitely a week to be proud of on all accounts! Looking forward to the results this week, we take on Kyby at home. Don’t forget this week is Corporate Box day for the sponsors and members, and fun for everyone with ‘a night at the races’ afterwards in the clubrooms! Roar lions roar!
