What a weekend to say The least. Phillip Island is a track like - TopicsExpress

What a weekend to say The least. Phillip Island is a track like no other and it took a lot for me to get use to as it was my first time on Phillip Island on my 600. Putting that aside, we went into qualifying and I went okay but personally wasnt happy with my self. We woke up Sunday and what do you know, Phillip Island had supplied some lovely weather for us (not). We went out in the warm up which was wet and overall went reasonably well ending up in 13th. Then came the first race and no body knew what it was going to do. I went out on wets but towards the end of the race the track was completely dry and I struggled majorly for grip but was happy that I finished the race. Then came race 2 and same thing happened. It rained before our race but was drying super quick. I headed out for my race and the whole track was totally dry so I pulled in after the sighting lap but sadly we just didnt have enough time to change the tires. So out I went on wets in a 80 percent dry track. The first 5 laps were good because turns 10, 11 and 12 were still very wet so I was able to catch on the other riders I was battling with but, about 7 laps in it was all pretty dry and I had huge grip issues. However, all in all it was an amazing experience for me and the whole bba racing team. I cant thank so many people enough for all their efforts to get us there. Firstly Levi Clarke and Darryl from Clarke digital prints for the huge effort they put in before we left to get the bike looking amazing and professional. Tim from Superbike Supply. The speed I was doing on the weekend was quite daunting but knowing if something was to go wrong I would be 100 percent safe and protected is a good feeling all thanks to Andrew Smart from Ricondi. Bba marine, for all their ongoing help. Jolt sunglasses for keeping me shaded and looking good and Ascot Demolitions for all their support. Personally I cant thank my mum and dad enough, you two work like a chicken with your heads cut off to get us here and without you I dont know where we would be., not only working on my bike but from everything from mum making sure I eat and keep hydrated to dad being there for moral support and level headed but last but defiantly not least my beautiful girl friend every time I turned my head you were cleaning my visor putting my tire warmers on or helping me change my wheels Getting your hands dirty and covered in fuel. And grease thank you beautiful. A huge well done to my brother for the times and result he come home with considering he is on a completely stock moto 3 and thanks Jess and ben for all your help. All round was an awesome weekend and a awesome. Learning experience.
