What a weird morning. On my way to Matts and two miles from my house, see this wet dog zig zagging across the road. Almost got hit by a car twice. I pulled over, bagel in hand and it ran. Someone pulled up behind me telling me to grab the dog. I called it again and held out the bagel while he directed traffic. The dog came to me and I was able to grab him. The guy that pulled up, told me he almost hit the dog. So he made a u-turn to try to catch him. Luckily the dog was wearing a tag find my home with an 800 number. I called and read the registration number to the woman and she connected me to the owner. Turns out this poor dog was rescued from a puppy mill and spent 3 YEARS living in a crate. This old couple rescued him, but every time he escapes, he goes on a great adventure. He was shivering and crying, but now he is home safe. Team effort. I am so happy he did not get hit by a car. Was two miles from his home! Great idea to register him with this organization.
