What a wonderful concert last night from our Sixth Grade Band, Chorus and Marching Pride !! Next up is the Bonfire Festival tomorrow (Saturday). Please make sure your student is in Lutcher by 2:30. Band students should be dressed in their red polo, khaki pants and black shoes. Please note that parents are to provide their own transportation. We park at the senior center (gray brick building with blue metal roof) which is behind the credit union adjacent to Lutcher Park. We will be visiting the Veterans Home to deliver Christmas shoe boxes on Wednesday, 12/17 at the normal “band exam” time. We will be leaving school on buses at 10:00 and returning sometime between noon and 12:30. As a result, if your child rides the bus going home you will need to make alternate arrangements. Shoe Boxes … we have ALL of the names filled, plus extras being made. If you have completed your shoe boxes, please send them to school on Monday. For those that have not yet completed their boxes, there are supplies in the band hall on a table to the right as you walk in. These are items that have been donated for the kids to place in their boxes (shampoo, conditioner, mouth wash, tooth brushes, tooth paste, playing cards, cups, paper and pens, lip balm, soap, etc.). Please take these to help with your boxes. Again I ask that if you cannot or will not be able to make your boxes to please let me know so that we can ensure that we have enough boxes for Wednesday. As it stands now, the kids will also be playing for the Veterans so I expect it to be a great treat for everyone Any questions, please do not hesitate to let me know! Thanks, Gail
