What a wonderful day to end a powerfully moving week. Very grateful for the nearly two hundred friends and family who gathered for our dramatic Easter worship today. We gathered in the dark to 30 minutes of brass and organ music then we listened to a lone voice sing the Easter verse of Were You There (when they rolled away the stone) also in the dark. Next came two voices in harmony sing the Easter verse of Battle Hymn of the Republic also in the dark. Next our childrens choir came and gathered around the table with candles singing Jesus Christ is Risen Today A Capella also in the dark. The Christ Candle made its way to the table while a lone trumpet heralded in a musical blast announcing the Glory. Slowly the Eternal Light returned to full light as well as full lights throughout the Sanctuary (Centrum) while our brass, choir, and organ led the congregational song Jesus Christ is Risen Today We were later treated to three anthems, bell choir, childrens moment, prayers, readings, and sermon ending with all voices singing the Hallelujah Chorus. We then exited outside with our children for this years Easter Egg hunt. Very grateful for a wonderful ending to a powerful day.
