What a year. Wonderful and horrific. I made a lot of new friends and many old friends revealed themselves as not friends at all. I learned to believe in myself and how much capability I have. I learned I can be my own worst enemy. I found my greatest successes and worst failures. I know now that those close to God are with you always and those who are not will desert you at your lowest point, no matter how badly you need them. Everyone is subject to change, for better or worse, at any moment. To judge 2014 as a good or bad year is not within my realm of knowledge, at least at this point. I experienced my greatest triumphs and most epic failures. I can only say it was a year of learning. I learned that building my relationship with God is imperative to build healthy relationships with other people. 2015 will begin with tough challenges and much adversity. Doing the next right thing and taking an active interest in others is my goal. Selfish motives I must eliminate. Neglect of others and my own spirituality is not an option. A long road lies ahead but I must remember to not travel it too quickly, for I am not in the drivers seat.
