What a year this has been - century bike trainer workouts, dentist appointments and root-canals, Magento classes... In just a month Ill embark on another adventure: my very first charity ride! Ive been training for my 50 mile ride for the last couple of weeks. They always say if theres no video to prove it, it didnt happen. So I decided to post the proof and document my journey of the next few weeks with a few timelapse videos, for all your amazement and amusement :) -= Testing Hilly Potomac Loop =- Yesterday I checked out the hilly portion of the Tour de Cure route through Potomac, MD. It turned out to be not as bad as I thought. Ill also include maps and stats here :) youtube/watch?v=Ti0dHq0pjI0 connect.garmin/modern/activity/571882351 strava/activities/184270489 -= 30-mile Druid Hill training ride =- Last week I went for hills and distance, extending the Druid Hill route to 30 miles. Just two years ago I would have done the hills only once and had to have a break. Happy I can do this 3 times without a break now, training is really working. Next weekend Im increasing the hill portions and reducing the flat laps around the lake. youtube/watch?v=zvfXZ727sc0 connect.garmin/modern/activity/566258953 strava/activities/180983032 This ride is quite a big deal to me. It will be the first time to participate in an event like this one. It will be the longest ride on the road - I never rode 50 miles before, even 20 years ago when I was strong, young and pretty :) And I never raised funds for a charity before. Im still looking for sponsors and would appreciate every bit of change you can spare. Please check out my profile at main.diabetes.org/goto/wessendorf ! Thank you!!
