What an absolute delight it was to be part of the official opening of the Mandurah Junction Community Garden. Aboriginal Elder, Frank Nannup, gave a very warm ‘Welcome to Country’ and so rightfully pointed out that the spirits must have been there today having cleared the fog and turning on the sunshine. This project is a fantastic outcome of integrating the ‘old’ with the ‘new’ residential developments and boasts an amazing fruit and vegetable garden for EVERYONE to enjoy. The garden of course needs to flourish but soon it will become an abundant source of fresh produce for locals and neighbours alike to share and nurture. Now you’ve probably all checked out Greenhouse Park, or ‘Pencil Park’ as it is affectionately known, but please take a wander to the Community Garden where they will put on a sausage sizzle today at 12.30pm. Well done Landcorp, Intework and Lifeskills for making this happen!
