What an afternoon. Set out on the quad with Dad to mark my endurance ride for sunday. Quad got stuck on the pipeline track which is when we realised it had a punture. Had to walk 5 mile home did the last bit through the forest in the dark. Talk about power walking must have burnt off a few hundred calories. Was met in the dark about a mile from home by rescue dog scooby. Unfortunately he had forgotten his little keg of brandy that no St Bernard on a rescue mission would be seem without. Few minutes later mum showed up with a tourch. Think all the endurance in endurance riding is done by the poor beggers who must be mad to volunteer to put on these events. Always lots of trials the first ride I ever organised took 3 days of marking and demarking the last bit saw me and Dad trudging across a moor in a thunder storm, the lightning actually struck the ground in front of us at one point. Got to figure out how the hell we get the quad back to the main track and into a trailer tomorrow. Like this if you think Im mad.
