What an amazing day out there! These events are not only a huge undertaking to train for, but also quite the endeavor to organize. Some highlights of people on my list who helped us achieve our goals yesterday: Zach Winchester (Lane Bassham Winchester)- our fearless local leader/organizer and an amazing resource. Thank you. Your stealth and perseverance behind the scenes was phenomenal. Ill bet you feel like you just crossed the finish line too! Dale Reichman: a man with a vision to bring something great to our town and having the dedication to launch that vision with the help of others and make it into a reality. Tim and Lisa Walser-Anderson: our two local volunteer coordinators who Im sure are sick of seeing excel spreadsheets for the next five years. Thank you for your tireless hours you put into this. Chattanooga Triathlon Club: always out there supporting us at Tri club events. Thank you. Peter Hurley and Lorraine Hurley of the American Bicycle Group: your endless support of triathlon and cycling through your lines Quintana Roo and Litespeed have been superb. We are blessed to have you in our community and getting to see Peter out there on the race course and achieve being an IronMan was awesome! The COWS group ( Karah Nazor): thank you for teaching people outdoor swimming AND SAFETY to our local community. It came in handy! Richard Rogers: your kindness and generosity to others and helping them get a taste of the swim course was incredible. Thank you! Cycle Sport Concepts Tenn (Aaron Aaron Curtis): you guys can really pull it out when a girl needed a hub replaced in record speed! Awesome Bike Shop with an awesome Staff! Training Partners (Double Ironman Billy Collier): on most training days we cycle between loving and hating each other frequently (sometimes there are some profanities mixed in with that emotion) but without you I would much rather sleep-in on those hard training days. Thank you for keeping me honest and disciplined. ALL THOSE AMAZING VOLUNTEERS, FRIENDS AND FAMILY OUT THERE: WOW, WOW, WOW!!! You guys made the day! All the encouraging words of support via phone calls, texts, emails, cards and Facebook made my heart sing! And Never have I participated in an Ironman with so much crowd support! I heard GOYA! yelled at me so much that my grin stayed on my face from start to finish of the race! REAL FOOD!: healthy fats, protein and unrefined carbs: yes, I owe a lot to you over the years! You are a huge part of my life and having you as part of my race preparation and race day nutrition was awesome! Hooray for no GI issues and feeling awesome! And most importantly: thank you to my wonderful life partner Daniel Main: Over the last two years youve put up with a lot of Brunette Ambition. I think of yesterday not as I made it but rather We made it!!!. Thank you for always being calm, patient and giving of yourself in our relationship. You always make me want to be better. I love you!!! All you are deserving of a tremendous THANK YOU!!!
