What an amazing week of weather we have had! Ill blame the weather for the fact that we were too busy enjoying training the beauties to update you, sorry! :) Bridie found Sprite and Buttons noses hanging over the gate just too cute to ignore. Sprite is two and a half now an has come so far from the terrified, snorty baby who arrived with us. He has had quite a lot of paddock time with quieter Brumbies just to settle and it has done exactly what we wanted - helped him grow into a well rounded youngster who is ready for his own family! Drover managed to go in to another paddock and then forgot where the gate was, which involved a lot of galloping about. We stood in the gateway, reminding, but I think he was enjoying the weather too, so finished his gallop and then happily wandered through to the rest of his mob! Boots is now three years old and has been with us since he was born to Bridies mare, Dora, just after she was captured. Walking all the way to the paddock was too much for Josh, so he cadged a lift. To be clear, Boots is too young to be saddle started, but has had my children (closely supervised) draped over him in so many forms since he was born and he just adores them. This was the first time one had ever sat on him though and it wont be done with any consistency for some time. What an amazing reaction though! Rehoming this one is going to be tough!! He is only going to be about 12.3hh or so and he LOVES kids!! Adorable!! The weather has turned cold here at the sanctuary, with a fair bit of rain today - we needed it, but I do miss the sunshine already!
