What an extraordinary weekend! Thanks to Aimee-Lynn Newlan for inviting me to attend the Illinois Theatre Associations AACT - American Association of Community Theatre event Fire on the Prairie and present my workshop on the one-person show and its place in community theatre. Thanks to all who attended! Thanks to Kathy Missel and Greg Tullis of Engle Lane Theatre in Streator for their very informative workshop on strategic planning. I met so many fascinating people and feel more integrated into Illinois theatre community. Now WilleyWorld Community Productions and the Starved Rock Country Childrens Learning Theatre can be a part of these tremendous organizations! And thanks to new friend Gus Gordon of the Hoogland Center for the Arts that served as host for this event and for presenting my one-man show, Wild Bill! An Evening with James Butler Hickok (to a standing ovation, Im proud to say!) Thanks to all who attended. And a big tip of the hat to Daniel Bonn and Damien Grimm for running lights and sound, and to good friend Judy Brenzing for calling the show and helping with promotion. Judy has become such a valuable member of our team! The icing on the cake? Running into and spending time with old friend Chris Weckler, with whom I was in an improvisational troupe (Brooklyn Bobs Traveling Medicine Show) over 30 years ago!
