What an historic year 1844 was! Satan is an apt student of prophecy and he knew very well that God had a BIG plan for that year. So to confuse the issue satan brought out some things to smother the truth of the 2300 day (day for a year) prophecy (which started in 457 BC and ended in 1844) recorded in the book of Daniel! But with prayerful study we can see which is true and which is false..... The truth as stated in Daniel 8:13-14 will be directly associated with the Sanctuary. 1844-24th May- Samuel Morse who was a Bible student and Baptist, invented the Morse code and the very first message read; WHAT HATH GOD WROUGHT! 1844- Darwin drafted his first copy of The Origin of Species and sent it out to various scholars. 1844- Marxism was spawned. 1844- The Quakers started quaking. 1844- The Mormons officially came into existence, claiming that we can be little gods. June 27, 1844 Joseph Smith, Jr- Was martyred. 1844- John Nelson Darby came up with the dispensationalism view of the prophecies in Daniel. 1844- The feminist movement started. 1844- The Bab, founder of Babism and one of 3 central figures in the Baha i Faith claimed to be the Islamic 12th Imam; Mahdi. Bab means gate or door and the Baha i Faith claim that the Bab was the spiritual return of Elijah and John the Baptist. «««««««««*»»»»»»»»» 1844- Rachel Oakes Preston Challenged a Millerite preacher on the question of the Sabbath.... She was a Seventh Day Baptist who persuaded a group of Adventist Millerites to accept Saturday, instead of Sunday, as Sabbath. This Sabbatarian group later organized as the Seventh-day Adventist Church in 1863. 1844- William Miller - October 22, 1844. (Who founded the Millerites) believed that the fulfilment of the 2300 day prophecy meant that Jesus Christ was to return on Oct 22 1844. From this movement the Seventh day Adventist Church arose, after much heartfelt prayer and re-study of the prophecy. The date of 22nd Oct 1844 is known as the great disappointment. From the re-studying came the doctrinal beliefs still held by the Church today. 1844- The Spirit of Prophecy came about when Ellen G White had her first vision soon after the great disappointment in 1844. 1844- The Sanctuary truth started to be revealed also. Fulfilling the prophecy of Daniel 8:13-14! What an amazing year! And Samuel Morse first message sent in Morse Code could not have been more appropriate! WHAT HATH GOD WROUGHT!
