What an incredible weekend in Indy at DCI World Championships! It was preceded by an equally awesome two weeks of North Lincoln High School Band of Knights Band Camp. The trip to Indy was so special and fun getting to spend time with wonderful friends and seeing some folks after many years apart (Brian). It was awesome seeing three of my kids, Linda, Christa and Ian, perform at this level. Traveling to and from Indy in a van with Molly, Andrew, Chess, Josh and Michael was beyond entertaining! And if I ever feel my ego is too big, Ill just go to Dicks with this crowd! ;-) Joanna and I have certainly had a busy, but rewarding summer. Taking a short but wonderful family vacation to Oak Island (with Laura and boys), then Jo and her mom going to Texas to help her sister move into her new home, moving Molly and Andy into their new apartments (not to mention finding out Molly got a new teaching gig), celebrating 30 years of marriage, plus my 55th birthday and Fayes 80th, shooting a scene for a MGM movie with the Band of Knights, going to WCU Symposium, Band Camp, and then DCI…our schedule has been FULL. Now it is time to begin the new school year with the best kids and band staff in the world!!! Feeling TIRED, but BLESSED!!!!
