What an interesting day today. I spent most of the morning hitting the pavement. Then this afternoon, with the weather being as nice as it is. I decided to go for a nice long ride. I stopped at various places on my ride to get some errands done. At every stop I made I ran into someone I knew... no matter the time of the day. People on lunch, people running their own errands, just happen to stop at the same gas station. It was like the higher powers was telling me I needed to run into people I hadnt seen in a long, long time. My favorite was at the end of the ride I stopped by my local grocery store and on my way in, I ran into a pregnant re-enacting friend of mine I havent seen in almost a year, I was catching up on here when all of a sudden an old employee of mine comes walking in. She yelled out my name and came over and hugged me. Then proceeded to tell the entire lobby area I was the best supervisor she ever had and regaled my pregnant friend with stories when the employee was pregnant and how good I was to her. I kept telling her she didnt have to say such things, I couldnt fire her anymore. She was persistent. It was good to see both of them and honestly it made me feel good that employee missed me. Im in a much better mood this evening because of all of the encounters. It was strange, but really good. It was just the right amount of positive I needed in my life to make me appreciate my sobriety even more. Day 200 sober.
