What are you thankful for? Well, since you asked, Facebook, I will take a few moments of my time between cooking and cleaning to list a few things: Im thankful Im alive. That Im in relatively good health, and that my family is in relative good health. Im thankful for my friends, both online and off. Mere words cannot express my gratitude. Youve been there through thick, through thin, youve cheered me on and cussed me out, youve prodded and picked and poked. Ive laughed with you, cried with you, shared your joy and and your pain, kept your secrets and touted what you wanted me to shout out. If I were to be struck by lightning tonight (highly unlikely since its snowing, but you never know), I would die knowing I did the best by all of you. Im thankful for my home grown taters and my homemade pumpkin pie, and Im thankful I can cook. Im also thankful that I could squeeze that turkey into the biggest roasting pan I had, because if I had cut it in half, it wouldnt be the same. Im thankful for all of my talents, big and small. Thank you, God, for giving me eyes to see the world and a mind and hands to transform what I see into art. Im thankful for my (relative) freedom, and hope it continues. Im thankful for the military who keeps us free. If you havent thanked a man in uniform lately, its not too late to start. Im thankful that my native American forefathers were kind enough to give those starving Pilgrims some food, because had they not survived, who knows where wed be now. Im thankful for my day off. I dont get many of those in a year. Ive worked Thanksgiving (and Christmas) before, and I appreciate those who have to/want to. Give them a smile, or an extra big tip. OK. I guess I thank you too, Mr. Zuckerberg, for giving us this forum. I thank your mother for giving birth to you. Now I have to chase Purrby out of my fig tree. Happy Thanksgiving.
