What do I say about Ismaaiyl Brinsley except that he seems to have been a very troubled man for a long time. He mistook the demons of oppression, racism, injustice, unfettered brutality, and white supremacy for people. We arent fighting against people, we are fighting against structures. My sympathies to the police officers families. With the deaths of Mike Brown, Eric Garner, Tamir Rice, and all the victims of the Peshawar School Attack, the families of Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu are joining so many other families around the country and the world who have recently and unfortunately lost loved ones to unjust, violent and irrational circumstances. We want an end to this. As a result, this incident will not stop our protests. We want equal protection instead of bloodshed. We want respect instead of more funerals. One man doesnt speak for a whole community. One unstable mans unfortunate actions do not delegitimize the need for vocal and active protests and reform. #icantbreathe
