What do the following texts indicate about Jesus’ role in Creation? Why is this so important, especially when considering the origin of the Sabbath? See John 1:1-3; Col. 1:16; Heb. 1:1-2. John begins his Gospel with the famous statement: In the beginning was the Word. . . . All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made (John 1:1-3, NKJV). Both John and Paul leave no doubt as to the role of Christ in creation. God the Son, Jesus Christ, created all things: By Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible. . . . All things were created through Him and for Him (Col. 1:16, NKJV). Through Christ, God made the universe, including our solar system, the earth, and everything in it, animate and inanimate.
