What do yall think about this argument? 1. If evolution (without any God) is true, then our minds are simply the results of random mutation and natural selection. 2. Natural selection cannot screen for true beliefs; it is only interested in behaviours that lead to survival--not beliefs that are true. (e.g. you could run away from a tiger because you think he is playing tag with you, and be successful in passing on your genes: natural selection would select you, but your view of the world would be false.) 3. Therefore, our minds cannot be trusted to form true beliefs. 4. But if our minds cannot be trusted to form true beliefs, then the belief that we evolved without any God cannot be trusted either. 5. Therefore, the belief that we evolved without God is self-refuting: anyone who accepts it has to irrationally live with this contradiction because he/she has a good reason *not* to trust his/her own mind. In other words, naturalistic evolution cannot be rationally accepted, because the moment you accept it, you accept the idea that your mind is the result of utterly non-rational processes. Theism, on the other hand, can happily believe that God designed our minds (whether or not He used evolution), and so we can indeed trust our minds to be reliable
