What do you know about putting a uniform on, and risking your life? How does it feel to get a call, respond to that call, and know that your safety will be immediately compromised? How does it feel to walk around with a bulls eye on your back and head? How does it feel to protect a community who hates you, has no respect for you, and rather see you in a box then on the streets? Until you can answer any of these questions, then maybe Ill value your opinion. The fact is these men and women do a job that no civilian can imagjne. Respond to children hit by stray bullets, gang violence, armed robberies, and shit you cant imagine. Were the policemen arresting Mr Garner suppose to find out he was carrying a gun the hard way? So easy to pass judgment from the safety of your own home, and Monday morning quarterback every move they make. Youre right he didnt have a gun, but did those arresting cops know that? Like every job in life, we need to sit down and see what could have been done differently. What would you have done? How would you bring a 350 lb man to the ground and arrest him. Those police were called there by store owners, who pay rent, and complained about Mr Garner. Honest business men abiding by the law, watching this man steal from them. How do you think they felt watching this man sell in front of their doors that they pay for? Thank a police officer, because they deal with shit you couldnt fathom, they do things that you couldnt imagine. Are their bad cops? Yes, but they werent working that dreadful day in Staten Island.
