What do you need to wear at the barn? ------------------------------------------------------- Its hot, so if youre not riding shorts are totally fine. If you are riding wear comfortable jeans (not tight). Sunblock is not a bad idea. Cowboy hat, baseball cap, etc. also good. Flip flops or any open sandals are absolutely forbidden. If you love your feet youll wear boots. For riding youll need boots with a heel. I have a pair of Ariat Fat Baby boots and I probably wear them more than even my English paddock boots. Once we start riding you will need a helmet. We have some spare at the barn, but if you plan on riding more than once or twice Id definitely recommend you get your own. You can buy at Dover Saddlery or Horsetown. Dover is in Alpharetta, and Horsetown has several locations (horsetown). You can also measure your noggin and buy online. The helmet must be ASTM/SEI certified. A schooling helmet is perfectly fine - they will be around $45. As long as its certified you dont need to spend hundreds of dollars (unless you want to). Be ready to be hot, sweaty, dirty, and wet!
